Let’s be honest — blogging sounds like one of those things that should help your business… but often ends up at the bottom of your list.

If you’ve ever thought,

“I don’t have time to write a blog,”

you’re not alone. But what if you didn’t have to write it from scratch? And what if publishing it only took 15 minutes?

This post is your step-by-step guide to becoming a blogging bookkeeper — without the overwhelm.

Step 1: Choose Your Blog Post (2 minutes)

If you're working with pre-written content (like the ones from Marketing Keys 😉), just choose your post for the week.

If you're writing your own, use a simple format like:

  • A common client question.

  • 3 quick tips.

  • A short “did you know?” explanation.

You're not writing a novel. You're starting a conversation.

Step 2: Add It to Your Website (5–7 minutes)

If your website has a blog page (especially on WordPress, Squarespace, or Wix), here's what to do:

  1. Log in to your site.
  2. Click “Add New Post”.
  3. Paste in your blog content.
  4. Add a title and a featured image.
  5. Choose or create a simple category like “Tips” or “For Business Owners”

Done-for-you blog post? Just copy, paste, and adjust your name or details.

Step 3: Include a Call to Action (2 minutes)

At the end of the blog post, add a line like:

Need help keeping your books organized? Let’s talk.

Just one sentence is enough to guide your reader toward working with you.

Step 4: Preview and Publish (2–3 minutes)

Always click Preview to check spacing and images.

Then hit Publish — and you’re officially a blogging bookkeeper.

It’s Not About Perfection — It’s About Visibility

When you show up regularly — even with short, simple blog posts — you're telling potential clients:

  • You’re active

  • You know your stuff

  • You’re someone they can trust

And that can make a bigger difference than you think.

Want to make this even easier?

If writing isn’t your thing, or you just don’t have time, that’s where Marketing Keys comes in.
You’ll get ready-made blog posts tailored for bookkeepers — plus captions, graphics, and ideas for repurposing it all.

Because showing up shouldn’t feel like another full-time job.
